Children's Ministry

While you attend RVCC's adult service, your children participate in fun, age-appropriate learning and interaction. We offer various age-level Bible-based programs for children in exciting, safe, and comfortable environments. It is the goal of the children's ministry team to help your child to know Jesus and learn how to follow Him in their lives. We believe that children are an important force in God's Kingdom and can make a difference in their communities!

Noah's Ark Nursery: designed for babies and toddlers ages 6 months to 2.5 years, is a place where your little one can socialize in a mobile environment with plenty of activities or be held and comforted by a loving adult.

Critter Land: for preschoolers 2-5 years old, is an amazing trip to the land where God's critters abound! Using puppets and creative storytelling, your child will learn the Big Idea as it is presented in God's Word, the Bible. We also have activity stations where your child may play fun games, reinforce a theme through craft making, enjoy a snack, or sing a song!

H2O Zone: (grades K-5) our team strives to teach children the basics of the Bible in an interactive atmosphere. Your child will have the opportunity to learn about God through stories, games, and community projects. We like to keep the kids active and challenge them to live out their faith throughout the week. Additionally, we plan family events that give you an opportunity to spend time together as a family and build community with the other families at RVCC.

Junior High Ministry

THE TIDE AT RVCC is a ministry for Junior High students in grades 6 through 8. It's a place where middle school students from all over the Scioto River Valley can come together to learn God's Word and build lasting relationships! You might witness some silly skits, crazy games, and the occasional food fight, but we all know that hanging out with middle school students is a Kingdom investment!

We meet on Sunday mornings at the church where we begin our time in the worship service with our family and friends and conclude our time downstairs in the youth room where we learn, grow and laugh together. The Tide also has special events throughout the month, so keep an eye out for our next wild adventure! We gather on Sunday evenings from 6-8PM (Except for the last Sunday of every month)

If you have questions regarding The Tide, please contact us! Ministering to young adolescents is a blast, and it also requires a great amount of wisdom and smart ministry on our part. Get involved in The Tide for Junior Highers!

Small Groups:

At River Valley, we value community in a variety of ways. One way to gather is in small groups. We find that small groups are the heart of the church and the primary place where spiritual growth occurs, friendships are formed, and ministry takes place. Here, the deepest of relationships, the closest of connections, and the most consistent encouragement is found. We think everyone should be involved in one if they can possibly make it happen. Currently we have groups for adults, women, men, book readers, and those who wish to pray – let us know what you are interested in and we'll get you connected!

Throughout the year there will be other groups gathering so stay tuned for updated information. If you have questions about small groups or you are interested in starting a group, please contact us.

Prayer Ministry:

At River Valley Community Church we value prayer and recognize its power. We believe it can change people, circumstances, and outcomes. Prayer is what connects us to the heart of God and enables us to carry out the will of God. Jesus valued prayer in His earthly ministry. He often went to be alone and to pray to the Father (Luke 6:12). He also took time to specifically teach his disciples how to pray (Luke11: 1-13). Do you have a desire to pray for others? Do you love to pray from the comfort of your home, car or work? If so, we invite you to join our Online Prayer Ministry. In this ministry, you will view prayer requests for River Valley leadership and staff, new and upcoming happenings in specific ministries to pray for, and church wide prayer requests. The Prayer Ministry encourages and empowers individuals to demonstrate God's love to the people of River Valley and beyond by praying for them and with them. We welcome new prayer team members.

If you are committed to praying for the needs of others, please contact us.

Worship, Arts & Tech Ministry:

The Worship and Arts Ministry at River Valley Community Church are important components to our worship services. We attempt to create an atmosphere that is relevant and passionate as we sing simple, yet profound songs to God. Visual arts and music continue to impact the church in profound ways. Do you love to sing or would you rather close your eyes and just get lost in God's presence? We have room for both of you! Grab your coffee and come join in the celebration!

Do you want to help with our worship team? Do you play an instrument or sing? Do you have a good ear or know your way around a computer to help with our presentations? Do you love to create art or just want to help with lighting our sound? We can find a job for you!

If you have any questions about the Worship and Arts ministry, please contact us.

Hospitality Ministry:

River Valley Community Church hopes to make everyone that comes through its doors feel welcome and at home. In order to make this happen we have a number of responsibilities to accomplish together, before and during our Sunday Gatherings, and we're always looking for more volunteers. If you enjoy making others feel at home, we hope you'll consider serving with us.

Volunteers are needed to brew coffee for Sunday Gatherings and other special events. Greeters are needed to open doors, welcome guests, pass out programs and direct/assist new guests. We also need Ushers to help guests find seats and take up offerings, and pass out bibles.

If you have any questions or would like to volunteer to be a part of the Hospitality Team, please contact us.

Outreach/Missions Ministry:

River Valley Outreach Ministry is committed to reaching out to all people by expressing God's love in word and deed. In all things we plan and do, we seek to love God, love others, and share his amazing story of grace across the street and around the world.

We believe that we are called to be agents of God's grace and hope to our neighbors and to the nations. Here, we affirm the Mother Teresa claim that, "Small things done with great love can change the world." We believe this - to our core - and desire to be engaged in God's kingdom advancing His message of rescue and redemption.

Throughout the year we will be participating in a variety of local and global adventures and we would be thrilled to have you join us - stay tuned!

If you have any questions, please contact us.

Facilities Ministry:

At River Valley, we have a desire to be good stewards of the gifts God has given us and that includes our facility. We realize that there is nothing particularly sacred about our building but we know it needs to be maintained and cared for. Therefore, our Facilities Ministry serves our community by serving our property.

Our tasks include opening / closing church for services, turning on heat or A/C as required, making and serving coffee when necessary, minor cleaning (ex: taking out trash & washing coffee pots), securing building after services, maintenance tasks (inside & outside), arranging furniture for events, making arrangements for major maintenance (lawn care, furnace & A/C, snow removal, painting / roof repair, carpet cleaning, parking lot sealing, painting, sign cleaning / painting, van / trailer / large grill maintenance, and general electrical / plumbing repair of facility.

Do you have gifts and time to serve on this team? You don't have to have the skills to do it all - that is the beauty of this team! If so, we'd love to have you join.

If you have questions or are interested in helping out, please contact us.
